Why is Wi-Fi fine in one room but not another?

Wi-Fi is radio. Walls, metal, distance, and neighboring networks all affect whether you get a usable signal in the back office, warehouse, or bedroom. I can explain what is killing your signal—or walk the building, measure it, and install what actually covers it.

Why signal dies in some rooms

  • Distance and walls — especially brick, metal siding, and concrete
  • Router stuck in a corner, closet, or behind a TV where signal cannot spread
  • Old single-router setups that were never meant to cover your whole building
  • Interference from microwaves, baby monitors, or crowded neighbor Wi-Fi channels
  • Too many devices on one weak access point

Fixes that work vs band-aids

  • Moving the router higher and more central often helps one problem room—not a whole shop floor.
  • Cheap repeaters can make things worse by cutting speed in half.
  • A properly designed mesh or wired access-point system covers the building with one network name.
  • Business networks should separate guest Wi-Fi from computers that hold sensitive data.
